Power Inside :: Baltimore

... Support Our Work ...

Power Inside is a nonprofit program hosted by Fusion Partnerships, Inc. Our budget and staffing is modest. We rely on support from our funders, volunteers and members to serve over 400 women and their families per year.

How You Can Help... Make a Monetary Contribution

Power Inside relies on the generosity of community members who are committed to our vision and have the means to make a contribution. Please consider a personal donation of $25 - $200 to show your support for women recovering from street life and incarceration.

Contact us for more information or to send a contribution by check or money order to:

All donations are tax deductible to the extent legally possible and will be acknowledge in writing.

Volunteer

Power Inside volunteers facilitate support groups both inside and outside correctional institutions; mentor, tutor and offer peer support to women coming home from prison and jail; provide office and technical support; and conduct outreach and research. Volunteers are trained in peer counseling, harm reduction philosophy, anti-oppression and gender violence work, and public education and outreach skills. We ask for a three hours per week commitment for six months, minimum. Formerly incarcerated women, women of color, women in recovery, and survivors of abuse are encouraged to join our important work.

If you are interested in volunteering for Power Inside please contact us.

Be a Resource

Women who are trying to get off the streets or come home after being incarcerated face overwhelming barriers. Often, women are denied public resources due to their criminal record and lack of affordable housing, education and health care make matters worse. In addition to emotional support, Power Inside offers practical resources such as bus tokens, food, postage, educational and self help books, school upplies, career clothing, toiletries, etc. We appreciate donations of all of these things and any leads to obtain goods and services that will directly support our work with women and families.

If you would like a copy of our current wish list or have a resource to offer please contact us.

Get Involved in Activism or Advocacy

Power Inside works toward systemic change of conditions that give rise to incarceration. Our staff and volunteers contribute to local justice movements through advocacy, leadership development and public education.
