... Our Services ... Group Counseling Power Inside offers support groups and workshops to women in jail, prison and the community. In our trauma-informed groups we address addiction, health, prostitution, and domestic violence. Power Inside uses a strength-based curriculum to enhance the skills of women to make change, cope with crisis, resolve conflicts, and better access community resources. Re-entry and Aftercare Women returning to the community from prison and jail face overwhelming barriers. Lack of housing, drug treatment, employment and medical services makes community reentry extremely difficult. Through our case management program we work with women to anticipate and address their individual needs while they are incarcerated and continue to support them as they rebuild their lives after release. Literacy Tutoring Power Inside provides one-to-one tutors to help women gain basic literacy and the confidence required to pursue adult education once back in the community. Speakers Bureau Women who have experienced incarceration provide educational presentations to community members who wish to learn more about women's recovery, re-entry and family reunification. Their powerful voices have been heard at conferences, universities, in the state legislature, on the radio and published in print media. Pen Pals for Women Prisoners We support incarcerated women by mail. We exchange letters with women in prison to offer peer support, provide referrals and self help materials, and simply remind women that they matter.
